Website Transfer Request - Spike

Domain Transfer

Initiate your website transfer request by providing your existing domain and EPP code. Our expert team will handle the transition seamlessly and securely.

1. Introduction

This Domain Transfer Authorization & Consent Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between Spike ("Service Provider") and the domain owner ("Client"), who authorizes the transfer of the specified domain name from their current registrar to the Service Provider for management and hosting purposes.

2. Client Authorization

By agreeing to this document, the Client confirms:

  • They are the legitimate owner or authorized representative of the domain.
  • They consent to the transfer of the domain to the Service Provider.
  • They understand that the transfer process follows the policies set forth by the current registrar, ICANN, and relevant governing bodies.

3. Transfer Process & Requirements

To initiate the domain transfer, the Client must provide:

  • The current domain name and its associated registrar details.
  • The domain's authorization code (EPP code) as required by the current registrar.
  • Confirmation that the domain is unlocked for transfer and not subject to any active disputes.
  • The Client's approval of a 50% down payment upon order submission.

4. Policies & Restrictions

The domain transfer is subject to the following restrictions:

  • Domains registered within the last 60 days or subject to registrar locks may not be eligible for transfer.
  • The transfer process may take between 5-10 business days, depending on the responsiveness of the current registrar.
  • The Client is responsible for ensuring that their contact email on file with the current registrar is active for verification purposes.
  • The Service Provider is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect domain details or registrar policies.
  • If the Client fails to complete the required steps or provide the necessary credentials, the transfer request may be canceled without a refund.

5. Data & Email Migration (If Applicable)

If the Client requests email or website data migration as part of the transfer:

  • The Client must provide access credentials for migration purposes.
  • The Service Provider will take reasonable measures to prevent downtime, but temporary disruptions may occur during the migration process.
  • The Client acknowledges that some configurations may require manual adjustments after transfer completion.

6. Fees & Payment

  • The domain transfer fee, if applicable from your current provider, will be included in the chosen package or invoiced separately.
  • A 50% down payment is required before the transfer process begins.
  • The remaining balance is due upon successful transfer and configuration.

7. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • If the Client cancels the transfer request before it is initiated, a partial refund may be provided based on administrative costs incurred.
  • If the transfer is unsuccessful due to incorrect details provided by the Client or registrar restrictions, a refund will not be issued.
  • Once the transfer is completed, no refunds will be granted.

8. Acknowledgment & Agreement

By signing or electronically agreeing to this Agreement, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined herein. The Client further agrees that the Service Provider will act as the new domain registrar and manage the domain in accordance with the selected service package.

How to Get Your EPP Code

The EPP code (also called an Authorization Code or Transfer Key) is a unique code assigned to your domain. It acts as a security measure to ensure that only the rightful owner can transfer the domain.

Where to Find Your EPP Code

  • Log in to your current domain provider’s website.
  • Go to the **Domain Management** or **My Domains** section.
  • Select the domain you want to transfer.
  • Look for **Transfer Options** or **Get EPP Code**.
  • Copy the code or request it via email (some registrars send it automatically).

Alternative: Contact Your Registrar

If you can't find your EPP code, contact your current domain provider’s support team and request the **Authorization Code for Transfer**.

Important Notes

  • Some domains may require additional security steps, like unlocking the domain.
  • Make sure your contact details are up to date with your current registrar.
  • The EPP code is case-sensitive, so copy it exactly as provided.
